What’s Tee(Tea)?

 Who is Tee? You might ask; but the real question is… How does she relate to me? 

Well… take a little time out of your day to get to know me. There might be so many questions behind the gossip and rumors that go around about me; but every wise man knows.. only you can tell your own truth. So who am I? 

Well… hey, I’m Tee, 30 year old, single mom from Queens, NYC. I was raised in a family of 5, I’m the youngest of 3, all girls. I’ve always been a flamboyant/defiant child, honestly. This is because I knew my personality was strong from birth, lol. I didn’t care for authority/routines/structure; I’ve always seen life as a big playground. 

My parents were strict, but also hardworking. So I’d do what I wanted, but only when they weren’t around, lol. I was given anything, but being the last of 3 only separated me. My sisters were already off to college and moved out, by the time that I went to high school. With my parents working and me being the only child left, I basically grew up with my friends. My parents did the best they could because they gave me the material things and shelter, but emotionally, I looked outside of myself…

I’ve always been a dark skinned girl with the really thick hair. Back in the day, being dark skinned wasn’t the best option for most children. Did I mention my mom permed my hair at 9 years old?! (YIKES!!) I was teased about my complexion, being called every derogatory name you can think of, but I’ve always told myself, my complexion was the best part of my appearance. I felt like it was weird that black children would make fun of dark skinned children when everyone was clearly the same race, but I never let it define me. 

This is just a snippet of my life and where I’m coming from.. so have a look, see if you can relate, or if you can’t relate, at least see if it sparks your interests.. there’s so much more I have in store for y’all….
